Genesis House Domestic Violence Shelter serves the counties of Putnam, Clay, White, Macon, Jackson, DeKalb, Smith, Pickett and Overton. They are in need of donations of diapers and personal hygiene items to help with all Upper Cumberland Shelters. To donate, please call 931-526-5197 to arrange donation drop off. Monetary donations can be mailed to PO Box 1180 Cookeville, TN 38503.

Bohannon American Legion Post 4 and Auxiliary Unit 4 of Livingston meet on the first Tuesday of each month at post headquarters located at 121 S. Church Street.  The Auxiliary meets at 4:45 pm and the Legion meets at 6:15 pm.   Our next meetings are Tuesday January 2nd.  Please note the new starting times for both meetings. Active duty military, honorably discharged veterans and spouses are invited to attend.  For more information contact Ken Werner at 931-823-2386.

Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability (UCAAAD) is now offering application assistance with SNAP, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, for adults 60 and over or individuals with a disability to provide eligible individuals with monthly benefits to buy food. Applicants 60 and over or an individual with a disability can now call the UCAAAD SNAP Benefits Coordinator at (931) 432-4111 for free and confidential application assistance.

They use volunteers in their basic daily operations, from ReStore volunteers to office volunteers and all the work in between. Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program Available At The Millard Oakley Public Library. The Library participates in this program by providing prizes to preschoolers for reading. The child writes down 100 book titles they have read alone or with their caregiver. They turn in each sheet and get a prize, the biggest prize is after they have read their 1000 books!
