Mr. Carl Houston “Buck” Bohannon, age 42, of Monterey, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Jimmy Carter, age 84 of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Nashville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ms. Patricia Barksdale, age 61 of Jackson County, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her residence. No services are planned. Ms. Barksdale was born on February 20, 1960, in Putnam County, to the late Johnny & Julie (Allen) Cleghorn. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Michael & (Amy) Hale of Cookeville; daughter & son-in-law, Mary & (Michael) Williams of Sparta.

Mr. William “Bill” George Riggs, age 93 of Sparta, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at his home. Mr. Riggs chose a private memorial service for the family at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Sparta. Bill was born in Pocahantas, AR, to R. McDowell Riggs and Grace Million Riggs. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Frances Marsh Riggs; a son, Galen Riggs of Nolensville; daughters, Cynthia Shafer of Olatha, KS, and Karen Waller of Cookeville. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Sparta, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

Mrs. Patricia Dahle, age 74 of the Cumberland Cove community of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Uplands Village In Pleasant Hill. Her wishes of cremation are being honored with no services planned. Mrs. Dahle was born Saturday, May 17, 1947, in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosemary Taco Sutmaier. She was a sales manager in the cosmetics industry. Survivors include her husband, Juergen Dahle of the Cumberland Cove community.

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Lynn “Mike” Rhoton, age 66 of Walling, will be held Thursday, November 18, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. In honor of Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral service. Mr. Rhoton passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at his residence. Mike was born March 10, 1955, in Moss, the son of the late Jasper Reed and Flora Denton Rhoton. He was a former employee of LTD, where he worked alongside his wife for 20 years. Mike liked to stay busy and was always eager to help with work around his home, whether it was outside or inside. When he did take time to travel, he enjoyed being in nature in the mountains of North Carolina. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Loretta Rhoton. The family will receive friends Thursday after 10:00 a.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Ann Pippin, age 75 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, November 19, at 11:00 a.m., at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Edmund Dyer Cemetery in the Pippin Community of Putnam County. Mrs. Pippin passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 6, 1946, in Jackson County, to the late Albert L. and Ethel G. Mayberry Flatt. Carolyn graduated in 1964 from Jackson County High School as valedictorian. She was homemaker, a retired real estate broker, and a member of Center Grove Church of Christ. Survivors include  her husband of 57 years, Paul Pippin; son, James (Darlene) Pippin of DeKalb County; daughter, Laura Pippin of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., and Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Sherrell, age 57 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, November 19, at 12:00 p.m., at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mr. Sherrell passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at his residence. He was born on July 6, 1964, in Cookeville, to Nell Goff Sherrell Vinson and the late Curtis D. Sherrell. He was a graduate of Cookeville High School. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 35 years, Tammy Ramsey Sherrell; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Dexter Cross of Brush Creek. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Mr. Junior Beechboard, age 89 of Allons, will be conducted Friday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m., from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. Mr. Beechboard passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Jackson County on December 23, 1931, to the late Bedford and Erma Lynn Beechboard. Junior loved his family, gardening, and farming. He always enjoyed going to church and spending time with his caregivers, Faye and Allen Shelton. Survivors include his sisters, Georgia Gray and husband, Grady, of Allons, and Betty Joe Thompson and husband, Andy, of Dickson; brothers, Tommy Beechboard and wife, Debbie, of Allons, Bill Beechboard of Hilham, and Kenneth Beechboard and wife, Carol, of Allons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beechboard was preceded in death by his wife, Onia Beechboard. The family will welcome friends Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald D. Pierwola, age 79 of Alpine, will be held Saturday, November 20, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Pierwola passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Overton County Health and Rehab Center in Livingston. He was born Monday, December 8, 1941, in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late John and Sophie (Angeski) Pierwola. Donald served as an E-5 in the Coast Guard from 1962 until 1966, and after his service there, he was employed with Perkin-Elmer for over 15 years. His hobbies were playing guitar in a band, fishing, hiking, and hunting. Donald loved his church. He was Fairfield Prep Valedictorian, and Knights of Columbus Council 6645. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Pamela J. Pierwola of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Pierwola and husband, David Rupar, of Stratford, CT. The family will receive friends at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service with the Rosary at 10:30 a.m.

Graveside service for Mr. Richard A. “Dick” Taylor, Sr., also known as “Buzzy,” age 85 of Florida, and formerly of Gainesboro, will be held Saturday, November 20, at 11:30 a.m., at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro with Military Honors. Mr. Taylor passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 7, 1936, the son of the late Joseph G Taylor Sr. and Helen M. (Eliss) Magalinski. He served in the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War, from 1955-1962. He worked as a truck driver in his early years. He then worked for several years as an iron worker with the Local 40 in New York City. His most notable project was working on the South Tower of the World Trade Center. When construction slowed down, he went back to school and got his insurance license and worked for Prudential for several years in New York. When he moved to Florida, he started his own insurance agency and ran it for many years prior to his early retirement, at which time he moved to Gainesboro, where he and his wife, Nancy, had a beautiful log cabin on top of a mountain. He moved back to Florida after Nancy passed away, and had traveled the U.S. in a motor home. He enjoyed going to the casino, golfing, and playing softball in the Knights of Columbus league. He was a proud member of the Masons, in which he was very active.

A memorial service for Ms. Belinda Mae Bryant, age 56 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Ms. Bryant passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her home. She was born in White County on August 19, 1965, to the late Bobbie Lee and Anna Jeanette Bryant. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 20, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Erma Nell Sharp Kay, age 90 of Sparta and formerly of Colorado, will be held Saturday, November 27, at 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church. Burial to follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Kay passed away at Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Life Care Center of Sparta. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 27, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
