Mrs. Louise Rene Ledbetter, age 64 of Monterey, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home. Her wishes of cremation are being honored, with private Celebration of Life services to be held at a later date. Mrs. Ledbetter was born May 17, 1957, in Frankfort, IN, to the late Thomas Douglas Horn Sr. and Hazel Belka Horn. She was an LPN with NHC in Cookeville for many years, and taught CNA classes. She was a Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Priscilla Ledbetter Of Monterey, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ledbetter; and an infant daughter, Bridget Lea Horn Ledbetter.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Smith Gentry, age 99 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m., at The River Community Church. Burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Gentry passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Mabry Health Care and Rehabilitation in Gainesboro. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home, and on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Graveside services for Mrs. JoHanna Ruth Holt, age 82 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Holt passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Cumberland Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1939, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Peterson Nelson. Survivors include her husband, Tim Holt of Sparta; son, Randy Sprague of Jamestown, NY; daughter, Sandy Kent of Sparta.

Funeral services for Mrs. Guadalupe Jose Mendez, age 59 of Cookeville and formerly of Guatemala, will be held Saturday, November 13, at 11:00 a.m., in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Mendez passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 12, 1962 in Guatemala. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Gordon Boatman, age 83 of Baxter, will be held Saturday, November 13, at 12:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Judd Cemetery. Mr. Boatman passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home. He was born Sunday, August 14, 1938, in Cookeville, the son of the late Harvey Boatman and the late Clara Carr Boatman. Jess was an Air Force veteran, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked as an industrial engineer and retired from Adams USA in Cookeville. He held a patent on a slide over baseball base. He loved nothing more than his life on the lake. His hobbies included ancestry research, fishing, photography, woodworking, MGs and music. He had many friends from coast to coast. Family was everything to him. He truly loved the Tennessee Volunteers, Tennessee Titans and NASCAR, and he also loved to volunteer his help. He was considered the sheriff of Austin Bottom. Survivors include two daughters, Mary and Larry Alexander of Vancouver, WA, and Pamela and Jay Kles of Yucaipa, CA; one son, Thomas and Kathy Boatman of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Ms. Sharon Annette Burton, age 62 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m, at Oakwood Street Church of Christ. Ms. Burton passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at St. Thomas West Hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 14, 1959, in Sparta, to the late Monroe Sevier & Evelyn Richmond Burton. She was a former employee of Mallory and LTD. Her proudest accomplishment was being Grandma Sharon to grandchildren. Survivors include her son, J.R. Drake and Mindy Patrick of Rock Island. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakwood Street Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Eugene Simmons, age 50 of Doyle, will be held Sunday, November 14, at 1:00 p.m., at Spencer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Bon Air Cemetery in Sparta. Mr Simmons passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1971, in Spencer. He loved race cars and fishing. Survivors include a son, Jonathan Simmons; daughter, Millie Simmons (Matthew) Long, both of Sparta; mother, Janice Ingrid Simmons of Doyle. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Simmons. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Spencer Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Mr. Truman Hammock, age 75 of Gainesboro, will be held Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m., at Stacy Cemetery in Jackson County. Mr. Hammock passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 25, 1946, in Jackson County, to the late Hubert Milton Hammock and Ardie Miss Dillon Hammock. On October 19, 1963, he was married to Glenda Hammock. He worked as a foam rubber cutter at Excel. He was the preacher at the Old Antioch Community Church, and a member of the Cookeville Beagle Club. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Hammock of Gainesboro; son, Randy (Carmela) Hammock of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Stacy Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Hayes Johnson, age 63 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m., at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lafever Cemetery in White County. Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 23, 1957, in Miami, FL, to the late Hubert and Priscilla White Johnson. He was a member of Boma First Church of God. He enjoyed gardening and his fur babies. He was a well driller. Survivors include wife of 35 years, Teresa Ann Judd Johnson; daughters Barbara Hersl and husband, William Ambrose, Tracy and husband, Jonathan Steele; son, Joshua and wife, Tabitha Johnson, all of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home.

Mr. Bill Langston, age 50 of Cookeville, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home. A gathering for friends and family will be held Sunday, November 14, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Ms. Pauline Fay Neal, age 82, Of Middletown, OH, and formerly of Clarkrange, will be held Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m., at Wilder Cemetery. Ms. Neal passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her daughter’s home. Ms. Neal was born Sunday, May 7, 1939, in Wilder, to the late Albert Ame and Bessie Ramsey Phillips. She was a homemaker. Survivors include five daughters, Charlotte (Gary) Lackey of Tipp City, OH, Elizabeth “Chrissie” (Bobby) Brown of Mayfield, KY, Sharon (Roy) Farley of Middletown, OH, Shawnda Rector of Clarkrange, Ranetta Rector of Clarkrange; two sons, Johnny (Jennifer) Rector of Lewisberg, OH, Randall (Rhonda) Rector Of Eaton, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Padgett. The family will receive friends at the graveside.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Wilson, age 66 of Monroe, will be conducted Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m., from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakley Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born in West Virginia on February 1, 1955, to Faye Helton and the late Monroe Helton. Christine loved shopping, participating in Facebook and social media, crocheting and craft making. Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Paul) Ford of Byrdstown and Crystal (Gary) Burchett of Nashville; one son, Owen Wilson of Monroe; her mother, Faye Helton of Monroe. In addition to her father, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband B.J. Wilson. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Jeanetta Rouse, age 88 of Sparta, will be held Sunday, November 14, at 3:00 p.m., at Oakwood Church Of Christ. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Rouse passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Sparta Life Care Center. Elizabeth was born October 5, 1933, to the late James and Sara Leftwich in Sparta. She accepted Christ in her early 20’s and became a member of the Church of Christ, where she and her late husband, Charles, remained faithful servants throughout their lives. She had a true servant’s heart, devoted to caring for those in need, mentoring young women and children and spreading the Word of God. Elizabeth was a gracious hostess who loved sharing her beautiful home where her flower garden was the centerpiece. Survivors include siblings, James Clay (Susie) Sr. and Glenn Dale (Connie) Leftwich, all of Sparta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Foster Rouse. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 14, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Oakwood Church Of Christ.

Graveside services for Mrs. Blondell Franklin Speck, age 89 of Cookeville and formerly of Rickman, will be conducted Monday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m., from the Netherland Cemetery. Mrs. Speck passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, from Overton County Health and Rehab. She was born in Hilham, on November 8, 1932, to the late Dawson and Zuia Ellen Horner Franklin. Blondell married the love of her life, the late Charles Ray Speck, shortly after WWII and started her family. She loved flowers of all kinds, especially cannas and peonies. Blondell took joy in keeping her yard looking like it was on the cover of a Southern Living Magazine.  he loved her family, animals of all kinds, and being outdoors. Survivors include a daughter, Gail Speck and husband, Sam Bailey, of the Spring Creek Community; son, Ray L. Speck and his wife, Betty, of Cookeville. Funeral services for Mr. Richard James Woudstra, Jr. age 58 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m., at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Mr. Woudstra passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at his home. He was born March 12, 1963, in Marlette, MI, to Sherry Stieler of Cookeville, and the late Richard James Woudstra, Sr. In addition to his mother, survivors include six sisters, Tammy Woudstra and Kandie Winfield, both of Cookeville, Shannon Woudstra of Colorado, Andrea Thomason of Gainesboro, Jamie Swartz of McMinnville, and Rhonda Sanders of Huntsville, AL. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Monday, from 11:30 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mr. Lester “D” Huddleston, age 92 of Reynoldsburg, OH and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Monday, November 15, at 2:30 p.m., from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Mr. Huddleston passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021. He was born Wednesday, July 10, 1929, the son of the late Ernest Huddleston and the late Lillian Jones Huddleston. He was the husband of the late Virginia Palmer Huddleston. Visitation will be held Monday, November 15, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Christine Mansell Vinson, age 89 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Brown’s Mill Cemetery. Mrs. Vinson passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home. She was born December 21, 1931 in Putnam County, to the late Harvey N. and Ruby L. Whitaker Mansell. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church. She worked in the furniture business for over 40 years as a seamstress. She also owned and operated Mom’s Place at the Crossville Fleamarket for over 20 years. She loved to fish, sew quilts, browse garage sales, and work at the flea market booth. Survivors include two sons, Roger W. Vinson and Donnie (Glenda) Vinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Louis Vinson. The family will receive friends Monday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Presley Stewart, age 72 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 16, at 2:00 p.m., from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He was born October 2, 1949, in Cookeville, to the late Norma Bennett Smith and Floyd Leon “Todd” Stewart. Jerry was a devoted son, nephew, cousin, and friend. Jerry grew up in the Detroit area, where his love of cars began. He was a fanatic collector of MOPAR, Chrysler, and Dodge memorabilia, and shared his father’s love of antique car collecting. After graduating from Wayne State University, he journeyed back to Cookeville, and started a work career at K-Mart in the electronic department. Later, he worked his way into management and retired when his parents moved back home to Tennessee. After a time, Jerry embarked on the next phase of his work life at Wal-Mart. He worked there until he needed to take care of his mother. Jerry had a deep love of family; he loved having Sunday dinner with his grandparents. Later on, one of his favorite things was Saturday night dinner with his aunts and uncles. He was always ready to go out to eat, which led to him becoming a local guide for Google. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 16, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Belinda Mae Bryant, age 56 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, November 20, at 1:00 p.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Ms. Bryant passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her home. She was born in White County on August 19, 1965, to the late Bobbie Lee and Anna Jeanette Bryant. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 20, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
